She/Her, Storyteller
Rooted in Pampanga and Ilocos Norte
Currently in Long Beach, California
Caresse Fernandez is a queer Filipinx-American based out of Long Beach, CA. Born and bred in Los Angeles with a large part of her childhood spent in Manila, her interest in comparing the two similar yet vastly different metropolitan areas she calls home led her to study Geography at UC Berkeley.
Now honing her passions for intersectional environmentalism and storytelling, Caresse works in development for a global environmental non-profit by day and as a storyteller through word and dance by night. As a survivor who has had her own struggles with self-expression, she finds it critical to use her voice to elevate and uplift others, especially around themes of identity in the diaspora and mental health.
